Bajra Roti

Chapati is a classic Indian bread served with vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for a hearty meal. Bajra roti is a wonderfully unique twist given to the original version of chapati. This recipe is a great choice for kids and the elderly as well. Nutritional Benefits: Bajra or Pearl Millet is rich in essential compounds like protein, fibre, phosphorous, magnesium and iron. Whole wheat flour, being a whole grain is rich in fiber so it adds bulk to the diet and provides satiety.

Ingredients

  • •15 grams bajra flour
  • •15 grams whole wheat flour
  • •Water as required

Method

    Combine bajra flour, whole wheat flour and knead soft dough using little water.

    Cover and keep this aside for ten to fifteen minutes.

    Roll the dough into a round roti using a little wheat flour.

    Heat a tawa over moderate flame and place roti over it.

    When small bubbles start forming turn it over, and cook it from the other side.

    Press the edges with a spatula so that edges are also cooked well.

    Cook it evenly from both sides and serve immediately.
